Websites

These are all my websites.

308cc Exclusive (Peugeot) (http://www.308ccexclusive.com/)
308cc Exclusive (Peugeot)

For: Image+ Limited

I Did: xHTML, CSS, CakePHP, MySQL, SVN

Peugeot were looking for a bespoke registration site for a series of events surrounding a new car launch and didn't have the resources to develop it in-house. They approached Image+ to design and develop the entire site. This was built from scratch in CakePHP, and has some nice features, like ordering the events by distance from the currently logged in user using their postcode, and uses Javascript to highlight events on a custom designed UK map when their links are hovered over.

Advent Communications

For: Image+ Limited

I Did: SEO, CakePHP, MySQL, SVN

Image+ designed a website for Advent Communications before I joined the company. Shortly after I joined Advent contacted Image+ looking for some help with SEO. They were currently coming on page 36 for the term "coventry pr". I then approached the site with a view to getting them listed higher for this term, and less than a week after the work was completed they were ranking #3 on Google for "coventry pr", and are still in the top 4.

Around 6 months later Advent returned to Image+ looking for a Content Management System to help maintain the site. I designed and developed a bespoke system that made it easy for them to update the site with absolutely no knowledge of HTML or CSS.

Chinbrook Project (http://www.chinnbrook.co.uk/)
Chinbrook Project

For: Candid Communication

I Did: xHTML, CSS, CakePHP, MySQL, SVN, Project Management, Hosting

Candid Communication approached me looking for help with the entire technical process of developing the website, from requirements gathering to sourcing designers, and finally the build, Content Management System, domain registration, and web and email hosting. I worked closely with Candid for the length of the project and liased with the client as and when necessary, as well as managing the graphic designers working on the project.

Chinnbrook can't stop singing your praises, by the way - what did you say to them in my absence?! - Elisabeth Klaar, Candid communications

Hughes Plant

For: Onlineworx Limited

I Did: CakePHP, MySQL, SVN

Onlineworx approached me with a project that needed a Content Management System with a very tight deadline. The design and HTML were already completed, but the client wanted a way to manage content themselves. After just 2 days I was able to provide them with a fully functioning bespoke CMS that allowed them to manage all elements of the site.

Peter Grant Papers

For: Image+ Limited

I Did: MagentoCommerce Customisation

Image+ were asked to develop a site for Peter Grant Papers. The site had to have the ability to go e-commerce in the future, so we decided to use Magento. I had to customise Magento in such a way that it no longer looked like an e-commerce system, and instead followed the format of Peter Grant Paper's paper catalogue. Also, each section had to look different, each "product" had different types of attributes that needed to be displayed, and all of this had to be simple and straightforward for Peter Grant Paper's employees to manage.

This meant it would have been far too complex to use a standard Magento theme, instead I was able to devise a combination of Magento Attribute Sets, combined with a default theme, and a series of product specific themes which allowed Peter Grant Papers fine grained control over how each paged is displayed, without worrying about specific implementation details, and with the end result looking very little like an e-commerce site, or the Magento Commerce system.

Resource Development International (http://www.rdi.co.uk)
Resource Development International

For: Image+ Limited

I Did: Ongoing Maintenance

RDI's website was initially developed by someone else using the Open Source Content Management System "Joomla". RDI contacted Image+ looking for support and ongoing development as the developers were no-longer able to support RDI's growing technical needs.

[Adam’s] technical knowledge has been first rate, for example some of our technical issues have been deemed ‘unsolvable’ by other IT firms - but [Adam has] found a way to make it work.
[Image+’s] staff are always helpful and polite and I have confidence in recommending them to anyone.
- Dr. Ben Culling, Resource Development International Limited to Image+ Limited, regarding a recent overhall of the entire Hong Kong site, October 2008.

SiXDAYSOBER Official Website (http://www.sixdaysober.com)
SiXDAYSOBER Official Website

For: Votive Media Limited

I Did: Joomla Setup & Configuration, Joomla Template, Hosting, Email

SiXDAYSOBER were looking for a website that would connect them to their fans and the media alike, and wanted to be able to manage it themselves. They wanted to use Joomla as they were already familiar with the system. I setup, the initial Joomla installation, and tested and configured a number of modules before settling on ones the band were happy with. I created a custom template and configured the website to work in a way everyone was happy with. There are now plans to add fan forums and galleries, as well as a digital press pack, and an e-commerce store for their merchandise.

Vivastay

For: Onlineworx Limited

I Did: xHTML, CSS, Javascript, CakePHP, MySQL, XML, Web Service Integration, Protx/SagePay, SVN

Vivastay were looking for a bespoke e-commerce website which would tie-in with a 3rd party web service, and allow the customer to book a stay at any of up to 30,000 hotels. Vivastay wanted to take this one step further and allow a customer to plan a trip and book a series of hotels, check room availability and cost on-line, and in a number of currencies. All of this was achieved using CakePHP and Web Services. This project is now being maintained by another developer and has a new design, however the code powering the backend is all still the same, testament to the flexibility of CakePHP, and a well thought out approach to application design.

Warwick Machinery

For: Image+ Limited

I Did: xHTML, CSS, Javascript, CakePHP, MySQL, SVN

Warwick Machinery approached Image+ looking for a revitalised look for their website as the company has recently been sold. They also wanted a way to easily maintain the content of the site, as they were currently using Dreamweaver, which was too labour intensive and required knowledge of HTML. We proposed our Bespoke Content Management System which has made it very to keep the website content and products up-to-date and fresh.

West Orchards Shopping Centre (http://www.westorchards.co.uk)
West Orchards Shopping Centre

For: Parenthesis Limited

I Did: xHTML, CSS, CakePHP, MySQL, SVN

West Orchards were looking for an updated website which could be managed in a simple and straightforward manner by staff at the centre with little or no knowledge of how websites work. I designed and build a bespoke Content Management System in CakePHP that made the whole process as simple as filling in a HTML form, all styles, formatting, links, images are put in place automatically, and West Orchards can have the confidence that the site will always look good.
